Our featured interview this month is with Jamie Gold, the 2006 World Series of Poker, Main Event champion. Discussing how he defeated a field of over 8700 players to become the 2006 world champion. He also helps shed some light on the various rumors circling the internet since his main event win, including his former star studded client list, his million dollar dealer tip and his connection to HBO's hit show Entourage.

The interview created quit a stir in the poker community and spread like wild fire across the online poker forums. It was downloaded and heard by over 10,000 listeners in just 24 hours after being released, and since has easily become the most downloaded Rounders program of all-time.

Our featured interview is with the 2005 World Series of Poker main event champion Joseph Hachem who defeated 5618 players to win the coveted bracelet. His victory earned him a record breaking $7.5 million dollars making him an overnight poker legend. This was his first time competing in the main event, though he has been playing poker for 10 years. He bought in 'the old fashion way,' by paying the $10,000 entrance fee in cash.

Hachem is a native of Lebanon, but in 1972, he and his family moved to Melbourne, Australia. He is married and has  four children. A chiropractor by trade, he was forced to give up the trade a few years ago after a developing a rare blood disorder in his hands which caused him constant pain. While taking some time off to consider his future, he began to play poker and never looked back.

It' s been a whirlwind since his main event win one year ago and he agreed to be the featured guest on Rounders to talk about how winning the biggest poker tournament in the world has changed his life.  As well as his “poker life,” winning the WSOP main event defiantly changes your table image and effects the way people play against you.  Theres lots of players out there who want to be able to say they took on a world champion and won.

Our featured interview is with the 2004 World Series of Poker main event champion Greg "Fossilman" Raymer.  Greg defeated a field of 2576 players. He won five million dollars for his first place finish which was the single largest cash prize for a poker tournament to that date.

Greg got his start in poker by playing nickel and dime games in college. He later developed a more serious interest in the game and began to read a lot of books and practice a great deal. To enter the 2003 WSOP Main Event, he forked over $10,000 of his own money. In 2004, he won a seat through a $160 Double Shootout at Poker Stars. 

Unlike some previous main event winners, Raymer has proven himself a dominant force in tournament poker. He shocked the poker world by making another deep run at the main event in 2005, finishing 25th after being knocked out by a backdoor runner runner flush.

Greg appeared on Rounders the poker show on June 4th, 2006 discussing several topics including his main event win, being sponsored by Poker Stars, being involved with the Poker Players Alliance and his plans for this years upcoming World Series.
